Looking back at one of 2023’s projects’ located @parramattaaquaticcentre ‘You are Here’. This work pays homage to the extraordinary history and life of Parramatta river that flows today almost as a relic - all but forgotten for its crucial role in sustaining humanity over 60,000 years.
Presenting this life source as a void between two massive steel monoliths, built with scrap steel flat bar from infrabuild steel mill at Rooty Hill, it’s layered geology alludes to the river’s enduring presence.
Special thanks to Matt Mewburn for all of his guidance and craft @eveleighworks his skilled team @simpson_timber_and_steel

Woodford Folk Festival’s Sand Stage is an evolution of Dhäwu’mi Wäna (House of Stories) Cultural Centre for @garma_festival_official in Arnhem Land.
In consulation with Jinibara elders, the Sand Stage was made from bamboo, recycled tea tree brush, telegraph poles, steel wire and branches. The Sand Stage creates a space for First Nations performances at the heart of the festival.
Special thanks to @mercurio___ for passing his learnings from the previous iteration at Garma to design a new form that responds to the Woodford site and the incredible build crew @woodfordfolkfestivalvolunteers.

For many years Woodford has culminated in the fire event heralding in a new year.
In the face of the growing climate crisis this years event was reimagined as the Renewal.
@caveurban collaborated with Linsey Pollak and Mark Bromilow to create a village of dreams. The Cave Urban team taught Woodfordia volunteers how to weave domes at different scales, creating 30 domes that range from 2m - 9m.
Swipe to see a very special ceremonial processing, transporting domes with an Elder and Lindsey Pollak.
A massive thank you to @tayamikah for leading this beautiful project and @woodfordfolkfestivalvolunteers for their amazing effort.
