“The year is 1937. Belgrade is booming. Jazz can be heard from nightclubs , the Berlin Opera and the Milanese Scala are performed in the theater, dresses are sewn at Rebeka, and literature in French is read in bookstores. The corner of Nemanjina and Balkanska is a major crossroads, thanks to Vladimir Đorđević, who built the Hotel Beograd on this spot in 1937. Everything that happens here could appear tomorrow as a newspaper headline or as an anecdote told by Nušić. A century of dancing, fighting, laughter, demolition and crucifixion will pass before this iconic historical building comes to life again and revives the old spirit of the city, and now this vision has come full circle with the opening of the newest restaurant, Koordinata Beograd.” - Vogue, Serbia
The Hotel Belgrade building, which was built in 1937 by industrialist Vladimir Đorđević, is now regaining its catering purpose. Designed in collaboration with ENND architectural studio from Belgrade, the restuarant’s design seeks to highlight the original architecture of classic Moderna, a style that marked the period between the 1920s and 1940s.
Discarded decorative wood parquet flooring made in 50's for original interior of "Metropol" hotel, which we found by accident in one warehouse, was used for the custom bar.
