Kura Kura, Denpasar, Bali

A woven bamboo installation, inspired by turtle shells. Built through a community workshop on Kura Kura Island as part of its ecological agenda to restore land and living systems.

A composition of large and small structures, that invites people to walk inside and between, creating small nooks for children to play.

Participants wove the bamboo and inscribed messages of hope for the island’s future, so each tunnel holds both structure and story.

Kura Kura is a prototype for future ecological design. Showing how natural materials, simple techniques, and collective effort can shape spaces that belong to both people and the land.
