Living School, Lismore, NSW

Founded by John Stewart, The Living School is a unique not-for-profit progressive K-10 independent
co-learning community. The original building was John’s family home and his father’s medical suites. The adaptive re-use included setting windows in from the facade to create places for planting and deep reveals for shade. Conversion of the existing garage with locally sourced bamboo and a reclaimed tree stump connects with the “train of thought” which in turn extends into the natural play area.
